Dr. Cornel West has basically told CNN what the fuck was up.

He's been a pretty good ally to Queer folks too, I appreciate him and his voice.

If you're a journalist

And you're writing a story about a data leak or whatever

If you include the phrase, "the unethical but currently legal practice of targeted advertisement" to describe the cause

I'll make it worth your while

Hi everyone, I'm gray ace!

Asexuality and ace spectrum identities are often misunderstood, especially, so I'm going to use this thread as an AMA space for as long as I have spoons / questions are respectful

If I don't get questions I'll post a story later :)

women's/NWHL hockey

Ugh, this is bad. I knew the money was terrible and that access to facilities and training was subpar, but the details are still striking:

victorypress.org/2020/05/10/be

For the NWHL's only response to be to call it a smear campaign is gross. It reads as if all they can see is their current squabble with the PWHPA instead of the substance of the piece or the feelings of players. Workers rights are important, and from contracts to facilities, they've been handing out table scraps.

I'm not saying that programmers would become inherently more moral if they unionized, but shitty rich people would have a lot less purchase to use them to build heinous shit

chai recipe

for a single serving:

- boil 3/4 cup of water in a small pot
- once it starts boiling add one cardomom (pop it open), one crushed or grated knuckle of ginger, one stick of cinnamon (optional... i only do this sometimes), one star of anais, and last, a serving of black tea or just one whole tea bag.
- let this simmer for a couple minutes on a medium heat.
- add 2 tablespoons of milk and bring to a boil for a min (optional)
- strain!

and that’s how we’ve always made chai at home.

My local coffee shop started with tape on the ground, then placed a small table, and now have needed to advance to actual shrubbery to keep people from getting too close.

Bummer that it's required this, but it's at least lovely. #plants #socialdistancing #coffeeshop

my discord server has a custom bot that someone wrote for it, and today it went down with no explanation; the author spent like half an hour trying to figure out what happened until the hosting center called him up and informed him that someone broke into the datacenter and stole the rack of servers he was renting space on

So Planescape: Torment is proving troublesome for streaming. It crashes and I've lost saves (requiring off-stream replay). I'd love some input on what to switch to. Here are a few options in the running for long narrative games that will can chunk well into 60-90 min streaming sessions, but I'd also welcome other suggestions. πŸ’ƒπŸΎ

video rec

Until recently, despite @gregoryaveryweir being a long-time fan of Jon Bois, I'd only seen one or two SB Nation videos. Then Gregory fell into Bois' series on The Mariners and I watched this video on a famous DeVry Institute basketball game: youtube.com/watch?v=T4afzQyGo5, and I'm completely won over.

I don't follow basketball or baseball (The Mariners) at all, but I love spending a well-produced and faux-understated video going, "WTF? wttttffff?" :QueerCatHeart:
